Cat owners know all too well that a curious feline will do anything to explore the world, but this cat takes it to a whole new level.
Cats are inherently extremely curious animals. They are fascinated by everything and eager to explore their surroundings. If they encounter something unfamiliar, they use their paws to investigate. One curious cat, captivated by its owner’s clay-carving hobby, quickly gained a huge following on Instagram. So much so that the kitten has even tried its paw at the craft itself.
If you have a cat, you’ve probably noticed that when they’re about to investigate something, they will touch it with their front paw or even swat at it. While this behavior is amusing to watch, cats don’t do it to entertain us. The reason for this behavior is rooted in their ancient hunting instincts. In the wild, cats use this method to determine if their prey is alive or if it poses any threat.
Cats have a large number of nerve endings in their paw pads, and similar nerve endings are located on the inside of their forelegs. Additionally, whisker-like hairs on their paws help them gather information. The kitten in the video was probably just trying to find out what was going on. The end result is both cute and amusing, and artistically charming by complete accident.
