Airport staff found a cat in a suitcase: waiting patiently for take-off next to slippers and bottles

You must have already noticed that when you go on a trip and prepare your suitcase to pack, the first thing your pet does is to take a place in the middle of it and sit there as if it just wants to signal that it is coming with you! Well, this ginger cat didn't stop at the subtle way of signaling.

On November 16, the staff discovered something extremely suspicious among the suitcases of the flight from JFK Airport to Orlando, Florida. It is common for people to take strange things with them, but there has been no such case in the history of flight. As said bag rolled through the X-ray machine, TSA officials could see bottles, wine glasses, a pair of slippers, and the life-size outline of a cat on the monitor.

It soon turned out that the object that looked like a cat was actually a live cat. The kitty put even the greatest Hungarian escape artist to shame. It remained free of any injuries during the few hours, until they reached the airport with him. It’s horrible to even think about what would have happened to the unfortunate animal during loading if they didn’t notice.

The staff was shocked to note that, in addition to other questionable items found almost every day, they had never seen anything like this. Fortunately, the redhead didn’t try to run away when the case was opened.

Animal welfare has not been notified

When the passenger was called in he tried to explaine the situation.  “It wasn’t his cat, it belonged to someone else in the household.” He suggested during questioning that the kitten was not put in the bag on purpose. It was the victim of a very, very unfortunate accident. The TSA did not notify animal rights activists.

According to our information, the passenger missed that flight, but rebooked it for the next day. Of course this time without the cat, who is called Smells. In order to avoid such, even fatal accidents, airport security staff advises to always check the suitcase before closing it. And if we really want to take our pet with us, we should always transport it to the airport in a comfortable carrier. There, they will be checked in a separate room. This way the possibly frightened animal does not have the opportunity to run away.
