It's already surprising enough that a cat is dining with a rodent, but thanks to the perspective of the footage, the scene is truly amusing.

In the following video, a beautiful white cat and a hamster are nibbling on their respective meals. However, they aren’t eating from plates, but from the surface of a glass table, making for an adorably funny scene when filmed from below. As you can see, the cat is eating a pouch of creamy treats, along with some meat (maybe heart or liver), while the hamster is dining mostly on worms and seeds.

Overeating is not a good idea!

Although the uploader refers to the scene as a “eating contest,” it’s important to note that gorging isn’t good for animals’ stomachs or their digestive systems in general. Think about how it feels when you have to quickly gobble up your lunch, barely chewing your food. Cats can experience the same discomfort, leading to stomach aches, bloating, and sometimes vomiting. While it’s adorable to see the cat gobble everything up quickly, and then sniff the hamster’s food hoping to find something tasty, it’s essential to address this kind of greediness.

If your pet is also a fast eater, it’s worth getting an anti-gulping bowl, or you can use puzzle feeders or toys that require them to work for their food. This not only makes getting the food more of a challenge but also slows them down, so they can’t gulp it all at once.

It’s important to control your cat’s eating habit

Be careful with raw meat

While discussing eating habits, it’s worth mentioning the risks associated with raw meat. Especially chicken, due to potential viruses and bacteria like Salmonella or E. coli. We recommend always cooking the meat before giving it to your pet.

Cat and hamster friendship? Not impossible!

The video also brings up another topic: getting pets of different species used to each other. It’s not impossible for a prey animal, like a hamster, and a predator, like a cat, to coexist peacefully. The key is gradual, careful introduction, starting at a young age. With the right method, even cats and dogs, rabbits, hamsters, or even parrots can live together without problems.
