To protect your clothes, we recommend that you fit a child lock on the cupboards. But choose one that the cat can’t learn to open. Experience: these little creatures are so clever, that they can literally figure out how to open things in no time! Also, make sure he can’t chew off pieces of it, in case he gets frustrated and tries to remove it with his teeth.

They also like to use their claws to plough through fabrics, especially curtains. Rushing up and down the curtains is also great fun. And they can keep an eye on their surroundings by perching on the curtain rail.

You can prevent this by buying at least one, but preferably several, scratching posts for your pet. By placing them in different places around the home, you can give him the surface he needs to scratch. As we’ve written, cats also have pheromone-secreting glands on their paws. So scratching is not only a way of sharpening, but also a way of marking territory. But they usually leave their mark not on clothes, but on furniture (or more precisely, on furniture). With a scratching post, you can give them space to do so, thus protecting your furnishings.
